Is My Website Mobile Friendly?

Enter your URL below. We will test your site on a simulated mobile device and show you exactly what needs fixing.

Why Mobile Friendliness Matters for Your Business

More than 60% of all web traffic comes from mobile devices. When someone searches for a local business on their phone, they expect the website to load fast and look good on a small screen. If your site forces visitors to pinch and zoom, most of them leave within seconds.

Google uses mobile-first indexing. This means Google looks at the mobile version of your website first when deciding where to rank you in search results. A site not optimized for mobile will rank lower than competitors who have a responsive design.

What This Tool Checks

Our mobile-friendly checker tests four key areas of your website using Google PageSpeed Insights data:

  • Viewport configuration - Does your site tell the browser how to scale content for different screen sizes?
  • Text readability - Are fonts large enough to read without zooming in?
  • Tap target sizing - Are buttons and links big enough to tap with a finger?
  • Content width - Does the page content fit within the mobile screen without horizontal scrolling?

How to Fix Mobile Issues

If your site fails the mobile-friendly test, here are the most common fixes. First, add a viewport meta tag to your HTML head if one is missing. Most modern website builders include this automatically, but older custom sites often lack it.

For text size issues, set your base font size to at least 16px. Smaller fonts force users to zoom in on mobile. For tap targets, make sure buttons and links have at least 48x48 pixels of tappable area with enough space between them.

If you use a website builder like Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress with a modern theme, your site is likely already responsive. The most common culprits are older custom-built sites, sites using outdated themes, or pages with embedded content like maps and videos using fixed widths.

Mobile Friendliness and Local SEO

For local businesses, mobile optimization is even more critical. People searching "near me" on their phones need to find your address, phone number, and hours quickly. A mobile-friendly site converts these searchers into customers. A broken mobile experience sends them to the next business in the search results.
